Bio:

Joanne Young currently serves as Director R&D at CYTOO. Amongst other responsibilities, she oversees CYTOO’s collaborative industrial partner research projects that allow external scientists to benefit significantly from CYTOO’s technology and internal expertise.
Since joining CYTOO in January 2010, Joanne has served in increasingly senior positions at CYTOO. Her contributions include securing 7.6M Euros funding from French government agency Bpifrance, writing or contributing to company publications and patents and developing advanced innovative solutions for the biopharma market that earned CYTOO the 2017 SLAS Technology Top Ten Award. More recently, Joanne has focused on applying the MyoScreen™ Discovery Platform and high content screening/analysis for developing functionally relevant in vitro potency assays, providing a new standard within cell-based assays used to support lot release testing of gene therapy products.
Joanne obtained a degree at Manchester University combined with an industrial placement at Glaxo. She completed a Ph.D. thesis in microbiology at University Paris XI and gained experience in cell biology and quantitative microscopy during postdoctoral research at EMBL, Heidelberg and Curie Institute, Paris.
